I read a article about stopping and frisking

The article’s main point was to show how effective it is for police officers to stop and frisk individuals and to also explain is this violating citizen’s rights. This approach declined the crime rate in New York City during 1990-2009 in Brooklyn neighborhoods. It also explains how humilanating it is if you are stopped and frisked and you are innocent. It proves how the crime rate in New York dropped throughout the years. It also shows in other cities how the murder rate has gone up like Chicago.

fact 1:. The city’s astounding homicide drop — 82 percent from 1990 to 2009 — is driven by a decline in gun crime

fact 2:In the first six months of 2012, New Yorkers were stopped by the police 337,434 times
298,919 were totally innocent (89 percent).
179,449 were black (53 percent).
107,812 were Latino (32 percent).
31,891 were white (9 percent)

i noticed the writer was undecided about if this strategy was the right thing to do or was a violation of peoples rights. I would of liked to see laws that backed up the writers thoughts that this police strategy violated human rights.
